The Honesty of Blood

My wrists itch today
where I sliced them with a knife.
No,
you didn't hear me wrong,
a knife is what I used.
I think it cuts you deep,
deeper than it did me.
But,
Death did not come knocking.
I washed clean
the blood that flows from this temple
rotten and full of Sin
like rusted water
tainted with lies.
I figured that for deeds I couldn't admit to
my blood would tell the truth
honesty thats true and pure.
But I was wrong.
