IF I COULD SAVE MY HEART
PROTECT IT FROM ALL HARM
I'D SAFELY STORE IT IN MY ROOM
IN MY LITTLE MASON JAR

I'D WAIT UNTIL THE DAY
TRUE LOVE COMES MY WAY
THEN I'D OPEN UP MY JAR
GIVE MY HEART TO ONE WHO
WANTS TO STAY FOREVER AND A DAY

BEEN SO MANY LOVERS
THAT TORE IT ALL INTO
SHED SO MANY LONELY TEARS
I FELT LEFT ALONE AND CONFUSED

SO I'LL PUT AWAY MY MASON JAR
AND SOMEDAY HE WILL COME
IN THE MEANTIME I'LL WAIT HERE
TO FIND A LOVE OF MY VERY OWN

I love this poem! Especally this stanza

I'D WAIT UNTIL THE DAY
TRUE LOVE COMES MY WAY
THEN I'D OPEN UP MY JAR
GIVE MY HEART TO ONE WHO
WANTS TO STAY FOREVER AND A DAY

True love is great....and waiting for it is the best thing you can do!
