You Were Always There!

Where were the angels
When I screamed out in the night
Did you hear this little girl's plea
Did you even care.
You don't have to do this
What is driving you
Is it your demons deep within
Is it really you?
Did you know that I cried in the middle of the night
I whispered to God to take my life
I thought he wasn't listening
To but a little child.
The angels were listening
They celebrated my strength
Brushed away my tears
Singing melodies to comfort my pain.
And dear God
I never realized that you were always there
And yes, you did take my life
I just didn't know.
The questions have diminished some
The pain still remains
Tucked deep within
Through the loving hands of God, I will be healed.
