I know that it’s hard to say
What’s been going through your head.
The words I said, repeating through your mind
again, and again
but I don't know where to begin except to say
that this wasn't exactly what I had planned
us holdings hands when I should be taking a stand
for myself. See, you want me to behave give you more
than you ever gave me or my tried to give me anyway.
Yeah, I remember the THINGS you tried to give me but
that just has to wait...don't you understand about my past?
It’s too late to say you love me because when you tried to
slide on home you ruined every part of me, of us and now I
can't be alone with you and in my heart I know that’s wrong
but I've gotta protect myself first because I've loved you only for a little while
I’ve loved me all along
