underneath it all

Contributed by little_genna on Monday, 28th February 2005 @ 12:23:14 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Words pour from me,
Yet I have nothing for you to see.
I feel like my life is a play,
Where you can throw me into dismay,
Or make me feel joy.
How does it feel to control me like a toy?
You do not realize the power you hold,
I think this should stay untold.

You have the power to bring a smile to my face,
Is it possible you might put tears in its place?
You make me feel great happiness,
Could you possibly make me feel immense sadness?
Will you be the one to wipe away my tears,
Hold me tight and safe from my fears.
You said you want to look after me,
Do you realize my scars run so deeply?

I used to cut myself for expression,
When I had no way of confession.
How would you react if I did that at the moment?
Would you still look at me without judgement?
Would you understand or would you just shout?
Or would you do the worst and walk out?
All I would need is love and a hug,
Because you are my natural drug.
