Prisoners were nothing more than scum
Whipped and beaten until they succumb
Bound and dragged through dirty streets
Thorns pressed through swollen cheeks
Thorns piercing through a tongue
Thorns driven into the gum
Beads of lashes cutting deep Prisoners were deprived of sleep
Dung of the bowls prisoners were forced to eat
To drink vinegar and gall none too sweet
Questioned before Ceaser or guard
Most often guilt assured
Bound dragged back to some cold cell
To this Jesus suffered at man's will
Are You king of the Jews
Thou hast sadith haven't you
Things done we cannot famthom
For this reason Jesus come
Came to this world of His making
To bare our sin through suffering and flogging
Spit and fire upon His skin
For us our souls to win
All for the sin of Adam and Eve
That we may believe
The world made perfect and all was good
Until man decided to be like God
To You God Jesus Spirit of love
Of everything You are above
I dedicate to You this very poem
I hope to worship You forever now and when You call me home
Sinned

You cannot go wrong with such a perfect subject. I think you could have written it better, but God still will appreciate the acknowlegement. |
