Reassure Her

Contributed by CodyJ on Sunday, 27th February 2005 @ 06:49:41 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I don't want you to cry tonight.
Forget about the world,
forget about your life,
please just don't cry.
I can get you high.
I f that'll make you feel better,
I'll get you some sticks of tye,
you can kiss this place good bye,
I just can't see you cry.
Do you need for me to lie?
I'll tell you it will all be ok,
that the sun will come tomorrow,
and joy is just a day away.
I'll tell you the moon hangs in the sky.
Please, just don't you cry.
I could tell you why.
Why you hurt.
Why you feel alone.
Why when you're at home,
surrounded by family
and everyone you know,
you still hurt so much.
I could tell you why,
but you're still going to cry.
So please don't look at me,
untill the well is dry.
Because if I see tears in your eyes,
they're going to make me cry.

In times like you are discribing, sometimes the best thing to do is cry. I don't agree with the speaker of the poem but that does not make it any less of a wonderful write. I relate all to strongly to this poem, and I hope many people read it and gather the knowlege that they are not alone.

a great poem! I do think that in times like those, the best thing is to cry, but i also know what it's like looking on when someone you care about is crying...
