Proverbial Sunsets

I don't even know what I'm doing anymore.
I don't know who I am.
I don't know where I'm going in life.
It all seems so simple so complicated.
My keyboard my pencil my pen my crayons
they're my only condolence to a wasted life.
I see a thousand people.
I see plastic people
paper people
pornographic people
I see love and lovelessness
all in the same day.
I don't even know what to think.
Or how to feel, or how to cope
with everything turning to *****.
So I score a coffee,
I smoke a cigarette
I curse humanity
in whispers
and sweep
people's trash
in black plastic bags
And I get home
And I sit and I watch tv
And I eat pop tarts
and drink soda
and play video games.
And I write...
Because I don't know what else to do.
Because no matter what I do
or who I'm with
I feel alone.
And the words,
the words remind me
that I am alive
that i can still fall in love.
That I can still breathe easy
That I can
hate everything about myself
and still watch the proverbial sunset
stealing the empty, white space.

Abraham, this was really good. I really felt the isolation here and the sadness. Much peace to you. |
