How pleasant your speech can be?

Contributed by girish on Sunday, 27th February 2005 @ 04:23:35 AM in AEST
Topic: fantasy

Pleasant words are those with all pervading love that burn
These words from one`s guileless tongue, from where truth discern
These words, that pleasant, with beaming smile`s preferred
Than those gifts with liberal hearts conferred

With the kindly light of loving eye, and beaming smile brightly
A sincere heart, that can utter pleasant words, is true charity
When such persons of pleasant speech gladly breathe around
Either through indigence or otherwise, sorrow shall never be found

Humility with pleasant speech to persons living on earth
Is choice adornment, besides all, which are nothing worth
The one who seeks good, sweet words from his lips will flow
And in him the power of vice declines, and virtues grow

One with words of sterling sense, to rule of strict right that adhere
Will act virtuously when prompted, and blessings yield in every sphere
These sweet kindly words, from meanness free, find delight of heart
When it comes to this world from that person, who could really impart

One who really sees the pleasure that kindly speech affords
Why shall that person make use of harsh, repellant words?
When the pleasant words are easy than bitter words to use
Leaving the sweet ripe fruit, the sour unripe, why should you choose?

I think a person's speech can be enthralling.

Its about a voice, a cadence, the person who holds your attention with soft thoughts.

I think speech can be remarkable.

A wonderful poem to read.
