Is it odd the scarecrow rests on a cross?
When he speaks I'm at a loss
of a reply to this starving guy.
He wonders where Dorothy has gone.
She has promised him a long
time ago that she'd find his mind,
he had believed her, she seemed so kind
as she left on the yellow brick road.
It's been years since she left for Oz,
and her absence has given him pause
as to whether she is ever coming back.
He hangs the with his arms out stretched
forever talking of that adorable wretch
who left him there with the pecking crows
while her reputation grows and grows,
she feeds the story, but how it really goes
is she left the tin man on a sour note,
she skinned the lion for a fur coat,
and she left the scarecrow to pitch
his grumblings forever, about Dorothy the Witch.
