Incubus Of An Angel

Contributed by Daniels_Princess on Saturday, 26th February 2005 @ 04:28:19 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Look upon this angel
Black wings, fraying
Cornered in her glass casket
For clemency she is praying

Ragged vestures covering portions
Leaving men to lust
Tears immersing her completely
Persuasions of rape discussed

Infatuation with her physique
Influences life and death
She awaits her penalty as
Apprehension slows her breath

Fallen angel, arouse at once
Retain this incubus in mind
Dread not for today
But heed this admonition for rising times

This is an awe-inspiring poem. Tremendously beautiful, but sad as well- you've accomplished a pyrrhic in that you make your audience flow with the poem but at the price of their happiness. Excellent job.
