My Living Poem

Contributed by JacobsKK on Saturday, 26th February 2005 @ 01:50:56 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

You’re a living, breathing poem,
That would take forever to read.
A multitude of words,
That only the bible could exceed.

You’re suspended in my mind,
And I surrender to sleepless nights.
Your vision is wrapping the walls in the room,
Creating the Northern Lights.

And when the sensation behind my eyes,
Feels just like the urge to cry.
I’ll sit down and try to write poems,
Peering at words through teary eyes.

Though our visits are next to never,
And physical contact is very few.
You are the kind of guy that I would
Compare all the other ones to.

And when I asked God to help me let go,
He ignored my desperate plea.
But it was really his way of promising,
That he’d soon give you back to me.

You are the one who taught me,
That love can always find a way to survive.
You’re my proof that beautiful words,
Can jump off paper and come alive.
