Dreams Can Come True

Mommy may I have a kitten
A silent look in her face
that said I think not
But Mommy please
I am not asking much
Petting her new puppy
She gave it no thought.
Through the years I thought in silence
Why not
Just one little kitty
Oh how I would be pleased
Johnny's got one
Can I have one please
She gave me a puppy, I gave up.
As I got older
Able to choose as I please
Not a purr in the house
Shepherds roam about
Kings of their domain
A kitten would have not had a spot
I gave up.
Through the years
I had give up the thought
That a kitten will not be sought
Though I thought
The house has become silent
Empty without cheer
Maybe a kitten this time would take away her tears.
Forgetting my dream of having a kitten
A Christmas gift I got
It's wasn't a puppy, but a kitten
So pure, so white; what a delight
Is it true; could I have been wrong
That Mom had never forgotten
Her little boys dream.
Sweet Baby Blue Eyes
Not at all his name
Playful and strong-minded
Has brighten this house made barren
From the passing of the kings
I said to her, " Kefka is his name"
She turned; smiled and said, " what a beautiful name".

| I have had cats and dogs in my long life and have found that while a dog will do tricks if it is taught a cat has an independant mind and does what it will. Good poem bernard. |
