Victory City Burning

Contributed by TheEarlyNovember on Saturday, 26th February 2005 @ 12:23:10 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Abandon buildings fall to their graves
Boarded up and broken down
The trees still speak of forever
A landscape lost while a city sleeps

Don't look away
Don't look away
This is what we've become

Don't look away
Don't look away
I'm afraid of whats come over us

Pale skis painting a disaster
No sun will shine on this empire
This is Victory City burning down
Listen, we've got a lot to learn

Nice work, though I don't really get the message. I think that the middle stanzas have an enjoyable rhythm to them. Mraaw...

this is a neat little poem.. but im not surprised that not many people have commented. its almost a little too poetetic for its own good, but that alright because you dont nessesarily have to please anybody with art. i think, however, i understand the theme you are getting at, and that is that everything we think we know is pretty much meaningless. this poem is a warning.. and if im not mistaken, its against pride. i could definately be wrong, but thats what i see in it. anyway, great write, dont be discouraged by your lack of comments on this one.. its good.
