I've Heard All About You

Contributed by beamer on Friday, 25th February 2005 @ 05:53:29 PM in AEST
Topic: drugabuse

I've heard all about you, the pain that you cause.
The heartache, the set-backs and all of the loss.
Of the horror and destruction that you leave in your wake.
The dignity, the pride and the name you forsake.
Of the blood you infect and the people you inject
and there's nowhere to hide once they've let you inside.
You consume every moment, every day, every thought.
They've nothing left, you're all that they've got.
You promise them everything they so desperately desire
and you just keep taking them higher and higher.
But where are you when they're coming down?
I hear them calling but you're nowhere around.
You are the sickness and greed that I see in their eyes,
you are the reason for all of their lies.
They cheat, beg, borrow and steal.
Do about anything to make the next deal.
Some of them even willing to sell their souls
but after that there's nowhere left to go.
Even now, you are all that they seek.
So lost, so tired, their bodies are weak.
The light hurts their eyes and they're afraid of the dark.
Death is there waiting, they've already been marked.
