His Prison

Contributed by Dusty on Friday, 25th February 2005 @ 05:18:51 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

He drums his fists against the wall,
He falls to his knees, cursing it all,
The emotion he's feeling is new and unknown,
Head in his hands he continues to moan,
He's filled with these feelings he just can't express,
His nights are all torn by pain and unrest,
Words spoken softly replay in his head,
He tries to forget everything that she said,
But he just can't shake the sound of her voice,
The way that she pleaded for him to make a choice,
'Let me show you I love you, and then I will stay,
'Don't be scared of the words I will say,
'Everything I tell you is heartfelt and true,
'All I want in my life is to be here with you,'
But he'd made her cry when he turned away,
And when she walked out he didn't beg her to stay,
The words seemed frozen inside his chest,
But this time it wasn't just like the rest,
Tears slid down slowly as he screamed her name,
Trying to tell her that he felt the same,
'PLEASE, I LOVE YOU, DON'T LEAVE ME HERE!'
But she was no longer anywhere near,
His response was too late and now she was gone,
He could never tell her that he had been wrong,
He knew she was never going to come back,
In his self made prison, the world fades to black.

And it is definatly something people can relate to. I think we have all felt like this, or something similar to this at sometime in our lives.

You expressed the feeling well in this write,

Great write,

I captured your moment. Brilliant ending. Although wordy, it made good sense. It works.
