I have lived to be sixty, but that's not too old,
I have but one wish if I'm not too bold,
Please Lord give me peace and ease all my fears,
All I ask for is a few more years.
My wife and I have raised a daughter and son,
Sometimes it was hard, but it's been fun,
I've had my share of smiles and tears,
All I ask for is a few more years.
I have been blessed with Grand-childern---six,
My hair has turned grey, I'm sure in a fix,
I used to run at full speed, now I must change gears,
All I ask for is a few more years.
Let me see my Grand-childern grow up please,
Life has been hard, Lord let it ease,
Maybe the Angel of death will give me his evil leers,
All I ask for is a few more years.
I would love to see my Great-Grand kids if I may,
For this I can only humbly pray,
I love my whole family for they are all dears,
All I ask for is a few more years.
