The listening voices grow quieter,
trying to talk, learning to listen.
Calling out for someone-
forgotten names, once
signed on blank papers
for leased-out hopes.
The spaces between
yesterdays and tomorrows
now grow smaller, and
their shadows grow taller.
But, somewhere upon
that desert of weary voices,
the clouds will break open.
And rains shall fall softly
without a sound.

hauning and intruiging, with a tinge of hope at the end. I love this line:
Calling out for someone-
forgotten names, once
signed on blank papers
for leased-out hopes.
well done.

This imagery is a lovely and vivid way to portray a piece of life. Short, but most certainly not small.
