I heard our song.It played today
I listened as I drove away
The words brought sadness to my heart
Thoughts of a love that fell apart
The memories of the times we shared
When deep inside I knew you cared
I felt a lump come to my throat
As tears would fall for every note
and wondered how that singer knew
What once was happy now is blue
The melody would fill my head
Remembering those words you said
I cried until I could no more
Releasing from my very core
It made no sense to carry on
To get back what we know is gone
The song played on and I realized
There's nothing left but our good-byes

i just love this poem. i think that a lot of people can relate to this poem because i know i can. my boyfriend and i just broke up and i hear our song on the radio all of the time. absolutely beautiful!
