A morning in November you expect to hear
"It's fruitcake weather!" from my friend
But i could tell something was wrong
that one November morning
when my friend could not even sit up to exclaim
that it was fruitcake weather
December came soon
and i could tell that things weren't looking good
my friend got worse
and finally drifted away
I still keep searching the sky
as if i expected to see, rather than hearts, a lost pair of kites toward heaven
