The boy had become a man.
A man in his own right.
His life was full of strife.
Where’s the light?
It was dark and dull.
He was alone, and often he’d cry himself into a lull.
For so long he thought he was ignored and abhorred.
Amidst this feeling he still remembered and implored his lord,
To send him someone because he was in such discord.
Then almost in a split second,
It seemed like He moved the heavens.
In a flash, his clothes turned into silver ash.
Coming forth was the Devil or an Angel.
Paralyzed in shock, he couldn’t budge a muscle.
As we know Life is a test.
To see who out there is the best.
There are few, who have a clue.
Let us see if our David can be baited.
Will I succumb to the dark silky hair?
Or the eyes made of diamond dust?
I’m kind of lust.
I know my lord well, why would he permit to send such a beauty.
Certainly to test me.
I beseech thee; I entreat thee, to take such feelings away from me.
Rid me of this impurity!
His love ran hand in hand with hell.
Would he be among those who fell?
No, himself, he will prove.
But in his success he will begin to obsess.
He will feel robbed of something.
The feeling of love burning.
In this there can be no grandeur.
Ah such is the lure of L’enfer D’amour*.
*L'enfer D'amour is french and translates to "The Hell of Love"
