The best times in my life had no batteries or plugs
just stick and stones and myself all alone
Maybe my dad was there in a pool laughing loud
There was no TV or computers or controllers involved
i wish i could show my kids these times
not through a movie or with a DVD player
but with their dad in my pool while i watch with laughter
i don't think they know quite what i mean
cause to them fun is sitting playing a video game
i wish i could take all there things away
but I'm just a step-mom and cant do such a thing
when they were here this summer to spend time with us
we played water balloons and went to the pool and such
then they went back home to mom who told them to sit
she wanted to do something and TV allowed this
They played Driver 3 and Vice City
while in the background there little brother played a computer game
i am not to judge cause step-mom cannot
but i wish they knew those feelings i had
Those best times in life with no Cords or USBs plugs

I think this is a pretty good write. It just takes time and patience to connect with stepchildren. One day soon they'll want to know all about how you grew up. They'll come around. Don't worry. :-) |
