Thoughts on Sept. 11, 2001

Contributed by Rose on Sunday, 21st July 2002 @ 09:07:08 AM in AEST
Topic: AmericanTragedy

The day I saw the planes,
was at first thought to be
a mistake, however; as we watched
in horror, the first planes fire reduction
a second, plunged in the other
building, making it total destruction.
Why oh why must it be, that our
world has to be in such despair.
All our country was doing to mediate.
In so doing the ones we help, retaliate.
The pentagon, World Trade Center,
both landmarks of freedom, power,
our inanimate mentors, of once
known towers. The terrorists
who performed this tragic event,
Thinks this is a wonderful decent.
How sad to think, of others dying.
A war they start, no denying.
oh Dear God, I know you have
the souls of that day in your grasp.
The souls of now Lord, are awaiting,
your answer of prayers they ask.
I'm crying inside for that day, for
it has hit home, not out of the way.
The devil is doing his dues, but you
Lord, already knew this would happen.
As Your children we're learning,
that pain of war is a turning.
We now must pick up the pieces,
start again, this time no leases.
It's all in unity we stand, as it should
of been, in all of Your Land.

The shock and confusion of that horrible morning, rings out in this heartfelt piece, Amber. From every tragedy, we learn patience and also we learn what is important to us. The world realized on that day, what we all have really always known. "Freedom isn't free." The price that is paid for it is the highest that there is. I thank God everyday that we live in a place where not only do we have freedom, but where we can feel pride for all of those who have rolled up their sleeves and done more than their part to clean up the mess and help us all to go on with our lives. I will never forget those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. I pray for their families and loved ones. Thank you for posting this Amber. May we never forget.
Take care,
Sherry
