Drunk On Depression

I drink it down it burns my throat,
On my hymn sheet it strikes the lowest note,
As I swim around in this big, dark pool,
Everyone hates me & everybody’s cruel.
I am daily intoxicated by this force,
I am rendered helpless until it runs its course,
It takes me down into the perils of death,
Hacking away until there isn’t anything left.
I stumble like that of a drunk,
Deep into the darkness I have sunk,
I look up right up to the falling sky,
I’m drunk on depression I can not lie.
There is only room for me in this bar,
All whom I love feel so very far,
I say I am happy so they do not worry,
I can feel as inside me alcoholic misery scurries.
The large glass in which I swim,
Is filled with pain right up to its brim,
Although physically I am stone cold sober,
The emotional drunkenness of depression washes over.

Now Krissie...
You said that this isn't good. Now imagine my surprise when I looked and there was this fabulous poem here.
(Not that I was really surprised, I knew it would be great)
Honestly hun. I wouldn't change a thing about this.
Well done getting emotions on a page so well once again.

Krisse,
You always let your soul shine through your writes and this is no exception.
There 's some darkness there, but it is truely beautiful. |

So many people suffer from depression, and you have found a way to let it out. I hope others find and read this poem, it can only help them learn how to deal. |
