Shared state of mind

Contributed by dreamer_for_eternity on Tuesday, 22nd February 2005 @ 08:19:48 PM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Somewhere out there
In this vast world of mine
There are toehrs
Who share this state of mind

I didn't choose to be this way
I can barely understand myself
But it's hard to put on an act each day
Isn't hat just lying to yourself?

I place my trust in your hands
To watch it be crumpled and torn
Before I knew it, I gave you my heart
And like my trust, it was mutilated to strands

I should've known you couldn't comprehend
My mind, my heart, and my soul
I kneel to pick up the pieces
Of my heart that once was whole

Should I put my trust in another?
Does someone out there deserve my heart?
Will they act like all the others?
Without a backwards glance, depart

With all of these letdowns
And torn up pride
Somewhere out there
Is the person to whom I can confide

Somewhere out there
In this vast world of mine
There are others
Who share this state of mind

Awsome poem. I know where this is coming from, or at least a shadow of where. Been down that road and back. Just keep searching, and eventually, you'll find what you want, and have been searching for.
