Giving light away,
The power of this
Particular set of teeth,
Parted by this particular
Pair of lips, and
I see it costs you nothing
Laughter rings and your
Head falls back, your
Face, framed by
Heaven and reflected
Grace beams across
Ordinary bones.
This unknowing donation,
This joy spilling from
Your being, free
To even lowly men
Though I wish it were
Just for me, I understand
I can never own what
You so willingly
Give away.
This smile.
