I fought a battle, I fought the tears
I fought for life, I fought the fears
I found forgiveness, I found my heart
I found true love, I found a new start
I gave myself, I gave my life
I gave my love worked past the strife
I planned for future, I planned for kids
I planned to have what life forbids
He held my heart, He held my hand
He told me "together forever we'd stand"
He took my love, I thought I had his
I believed we always would live in bliss
I wanted to grow old, with him at my side
We always talked of where we would reside
We'd have a house, We'd have a good marriage
We'd be there for each other, and each other we'd cherish
I fought for love regardless of cost
I fought a battle, this battle I've lost

welcome to YPDC, where you are knowen for the you that you write, and are accepted for the you who you are. please do enjoy yourself.
this was a sad poem, my heart feels for you pain that you went through. I am sure that therer are many who have gone through this kind of suffereing (not this ype exactly, of course,) but they do know what it feels like to loss this kind of a battle, one of love, we alway seem to plane for the things we want to happen, but we always get the things we dont want , not saying that they arnt constructive to our relationship but they do hurt none the less. just know that there are always good at the end of our hard times, just be strong and wait.
this was a good one i did find that it made me emotionaly sad in my heart for the pain you had to endure, I am glad to heer that you are now back togetherand do hope that you two will have a wounderful life full of joy, peace and happiness I do hope to read more of your work soon, so please do post again. be strong and God bless.

I'm really glad I found this poem. I recently had to let go of the one I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with.
It's been a very difficult time for me. I can only hope that it works out the way yours did. This was a very nice poem.
