Good bye

Contributed by jace on Tuesday, 22nd February 2005 @ 02:37:21 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Good bye
That is all I can say,
There is a rushing to leave and a gap for me to swell in to
I can not stay any longer and it hurts just to say the words
You were my first reason for staying, and sadly my only reason for leaving
I wish I could stay, I wish I could tell you this instead of just writing it out
In frustration and tears of fears of long ago sadness that fills the days of darkness that is
All I have and truly all I ever wanted.
You were a reason to breathe, a reason to exhale,
A reason for waking and a reason for sleeping
A reason for tasting
A reason for living
And now you are a reason for dying
And another reason for crying and
Another reason for letting go of reality and of letting free
The grasps of what is argued to be sanity
For you were all I had, and I threw away all that was me to make room for you, and now I am empty for lack for you
And I don’t wasn’t to depart my love, but there is no other way for me to heal
So so long my love good bye
And remember me as that smiling figure of so long ago and not the one crying in front of you now

I wish this was a part of a play that I may see its actors. But I guess poets aren't usually suppose to be the known character. I like this one very much.

Really moving. I love the last line and how you sum up your poem to the present tense.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
