A Midnight Memory

Contributed by bethie on Tuesday, 22nd February 2005 @ 12:56:37 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

With my memories wrapped around me
like a long warm coat;
I walked outside for a late
midnight smoke.
The lonely moon was full and bright;
in my darkness; it was a
solitary light.

Smoke and mirror memories,
circled the dark sky.
In the moons presence;
I began to cry.

Suddenly chilled by love's
lost afterglow,
I started back inside,
missing you so.

With a distinct, but fleeting feeling,
that I wasn't alone,
I looked behind me,
into the unknown.

The moon in the sky;
my heavenly host,
shone his luminous light,
on your omnipotent
ghost.
