Nannie was more than just a grandma,
She was more than just a friend,
God sent her our way not to stay,
But as a Heavenly blessing on lend.
Her home was the cornerstone for our families,
Because she loved us with all her might.
It was at her house that we gathered,
Be it morning, noon, or night.
And if we didn’t come very often,
She’d let us know in a way so dandy,
My answering machine would blink,
“Hey Kandy, this is Nannie.”
I’m going to miss that voice,
And the joy she brought to my life,
But I can just see her up in Heaven,
With no more pain, suffering, or strife.
My mind just can’t even imagine,
Just how wonderful it must be,
Basking in God’s presence,
From earthly bondage, she’s set free.
I’m more determined than ever before,
To make sure that I’m right with God,
I want to make it to Heaven,
For with both of them, I want to trod.
I’m looking for that day,
When I can see angels, so many,
That she can hear my voice say,
“Hey Nannie, this is Kandy.”
