She was dreaming of a man
Who took his own life in her nightmare
The cause of death was unknown
She couldn't help, she just stood there and stared
She had been raised to be strong
In the rain for him her heart was aching
She didn't know him in life
But she couldn't stop herself from shaking
She slowly crawled to the man
To find a sign if he was alive
The only sign that she found
Was him staring at her with his dead eyes
She couldn't understand why
On his face he was wearing a grin
She knew she could have saved a life
Now he stares at her like she did to him

I like the story it tells, it hits home. However....
"She was dreaming of a man
Who took his own life in her nightmare
The cause of death was unknown"
How is the cause of death unknown if she saw that he committed suicide. Are you digging to somewhere deeper? I find myself an adequate poetry reader, but I'm just not understanding. Please elaborate. |

To the previous commenter....I think she ment that she did'nt know why he commited suicide
On the other hand
This poem is great...should have had more comments for the number of reads...but thats normal around here....
