Being a performance artist, this ain't just what I do.
A mere interlocking-rhythm-rambling
may be just a creative outlet for you.
Here I stand towering over your mind's reach;
though I'm only 5'2
I'm 5'4 speaking in parables
on my tip-toes when I step to you.
I remove my shoes before I step to The Stage
on the holy grounds of my lap top;
Proof-read ,re-read ;so believe I meant what I said
and I can't be stopped!
I'm far too crazy; far too loud .I've been writing for 11 years ,
and I'm far too proud.
See ,I am among the bravest , baddest artist around.
We spit fire hot enough to warm the coldest hearts .
Believe me,we put it down.
So when you see a typo- look a little closer.
The underlying meaning was straight out of my hip-holster.
I leave narrow minds stretched wide shut !
Foreheads wrinkled up!
Dreads unlocked ,pacemakers stopped and
revolutionaries with their fist up!
Know that your witnessing a spoken word artist
in rough draft form.
Seeing is not always believing .Not all black clouds equal storms.
Keep writing ! keep breathing ! stop looking , start seeing!
Live and die through your art ... and please
, please keep believing!I

| I'm not sure what a "real" writer is. I know I really enjoyed your write, and your message. I've been writing for 30 yrs I guess(off and on, depending on what's going on in my life). I've read work by young kids here, that simply blew me away. Made me think geez I wish I was that good. lol I write because it is a release for my constantly raging mind. So I agree with those last lines:"Keep writing, keep breathing, stop looking, start seeing, Live and die through your art and please please keep believing" Well said. Much peace. |
