Shattered into Submission
My beliefs are being shattered
By my mind as the sands of time
Crack the hour glass filled with wine
That intoxicates delusions of what mattered
Ignorance is a killer and there's no bliss to find
Because truth is all in my mind filled with lies
Deceit leads to victory with the cracks widening
Doubts fill the emptiness between the grains
And the entire hour glass falls splintering
Into fragments drawing the blood drops filled with blame
I used to know the truth about life
But lies and truth mixed into gray
And I just want to go back to the days
When I didn't have a shattered mind
And there wasn't a crack in the sands of time
