What if?

Contributed by vallie_val on Sunday, 20th February 2005 @ 05:10:58 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

What if everything we know is just a lie?
What if everyone is fake?
What if nothing's worth a try?
What if lives that we all lead
Are more senseless than they seem?
What if place that we live in
Is just a land of broken dreams?
What if everything we strive for
Isn't meant to be?
What if hunger,death and pain
Is all we'll ever see?
What if there's no cure
To our tortured darkened souls?
What if there's no hope
When it comes to our goals?
What if our darkest secrets are found?
What if we cry and no one'll hear a sound?
What if our fears get us
What if they make us fall?
And we will lie there helpless
Not being able to stand up at all?

..What if?..

I ask myself what if so many times...but when I do, it keeps me dwelling on the past and not looking at the present. But curiousity makes us want to know what we don't know and causes us to wonder about all those "what ifs" in life. Anyway, I don't know what I just said, but great write. I enjoyed reading it. :-)
