My Angel (2003)

Contributed by NeonHusky on Sunday, 20th February 2005 @ 10:59:57 AM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I wish for dreams that do not come
And yet I try so hard,
For the thought of him to go away
My once flaming heart is charred.
The fire once burned wild and bright
And now only embers glow.
It took so long to stomp out the flame
How long, I do not know.
Even though the fire has been out
I can still feel it burn.
He is nothing to me, then why is it
He who my inner beast still yearns?

I want the cold wind on my skin,
And have only his flesh to warm me.
No! Banish the thought!
I just want to spread my wings and fly free.
Release me of these shackles of love and despair
The thoughts that my beast have and I, do not share.
She hungers for love, and wails in my mind
She troubles me for the thing she wants to find.
Carried on great wings,
A timid white dove,
She waits for the one for me,
My angel from above.
