Lie Massacre

The eyes filled with calm, in the midst of the storm
Scream "Can't you please hear me? Won't you please save me?"
Lines pour from your mouth, echo insincere promises
Left unkept by the fool I once knew and once cared for.
Nights of lonely company, spent under our stars...
They belogned to us, and meant everything, at least to me.
So hold me close, and say forever.
You and I both know you wanted to say never
And still when I think of the broken, crooked eyes,
I see nothing behind them, empty promises and lies.

I really like this. You've said quite a bit in these short lines. A whole story made clear and fascinating. Watch your spelling, but this is impressive.
