Faint lights flicker
And encase the door
Half-ass speak-easy
Is black to the core
Line up the inmates
And flash me their smiles
I've heard you before
Ahead by some miles
Hit me with something
That's new and unheard
Just one ounce of thought
When you split your herd
Humor me, grab me
Pretend that you're you
Show me your red
Your yellow, black, blue
Show me one thing
That I can relate
One tiny equation
That I can equate
I don't ask for much
Just something that's True
Be strong in your heart
And I'll embrace you.

Good write. I like the last eight lines the best, especially the last four. Keep sharing, thanks! |
