Old Friends

Old Friends

I remember when you came over,
We had a lot of fun.
Bike rides, late nights, and enjoying outside in the sun.

Now it seems we've lost in touch,
I hope I can see you again sometime.
I remember when we used to go fishing,
And I had to untangle your fishing line.

What's that? Is that the phone I hear?
Ringing quite faint, but yet, so clear.
"Hello?", I said, surprised to hear, that
my long lost friend is finally here!

I'm here in the park, where she said she would be.
We'll have a picnic and talk about old times.
From the tree house we made,
to the childish nursery rhymes.

As we say our good byes from a great afternoon,
I said, "I hope I'll see you soon".
She said the same, as she went on her way.
I went back home to enjoy the rest of the day.

Well, if I don't see you again,
I wish you could know how much I miss you.
Even when we had little fights, you were a great friend,
and I will remember you 'till the very end.
