Christanitys Three Oldest Prayers

Contributed by sinned on Saturday, 19th February 2005 @ 05:53:42 AM in AEST
Topic: ChristianPoetry

I will put enmity between
woman
You will strike at her heel
She will strike at your head
You shall crawl on your stomach and dirt shall you eat serpent
All the days of your life
An angel appeared to Mary
Hail Mary full of grace
The lord is with you
Blessed art thou amoung woman
Blessed is the fruit of thy womb
What are we to believe

Jesus prayed for us in the garden
Our Father who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy name Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread and forgive our tresspasses as we forgive those who tresspass against us
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil
For Thine is the Kingdom and the power
Forever and ever Amen

It was some sixty years before followers were called Christian
A hundred years before the Glory Be
Early fathers formed this prayer
Then began the writings of scripture
The word of God the Bible
To teach all mankind

Glory be to the Father
Glory be to the Son
Glory be to the Holy Spirit
World without end amen
The last protestant book to have this prayer was the Methodist book of prayer in the early eighteen hundreds.
Struck out by man

Didn't Jesus pray His church be one
God is so organized
Look at the seasons
The planets and stars
Didn't he say there would be wolves among you
His foundation was built on Rock
"A house"--- meaning church built by man---"Will never stand

I pray that you all be one
God is Truth
Truth is Love
Some day we will answer
Isn't it time
Before He comes
His Church will have to be One
To love one another His last Commandment
Lets get together
Leaders of men

I some how missed part of the Lords prayer.I usually don't comment on my own writing ideas.

For Thine is the Kingdom
The Power
and Glory
For ever and ever
Amen.

I don't wish to offend anyone.

Those who truly love the Lord are ONE in Him. This I know. This was a wonderful way to start my morning. Like a devotion.
Thank you.
