How bittersweet these battlefields are:
Littered with corpses near and far.
Broken swords and bleeding hearts,
Young ones forever torn apart...
We've lost so many skirmishes today;
Tomorrow more will fade away.
And yet our eternal nemesis,
Never beaten while stealing our bliss,
Takes us all to our graves.
In this war, no one is saved.
And always our immortal enemy wins:
With each victory, the evil one grins.
Every child born dies in this war.
But we keep fighting for something more.
We continue to lose, and we always will
Because we're fighting against what we can't kill.

I wish I could say, "I see, " but I can't. Never-the-less it is a really good poem. |

Excellently written, but would have been more enjoyable if you had left me to my own interpretation of your work. Never lead where I can’t follow. Nice job on this write.
