Inner Beast, I Fell too Deep

Contributed by NeonHusky on Friday, 18th February 2005 @ 08:30:11 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

The day I looked into his eyes,
Was the day I fell too deep;
I saw through the deceit and lies
Loving him anyway.

Only seeing him in pictures
And staring form the dark;
Watching keenly, the man
I had given a piece of my beating heart.

Only a piece for I was afraid,
Afraid to lose it all;
Afraid he would through it away
And let me take the fall.
Fall from a building or bridge
One night when I was alone,
Standing there yearning for
His softest whisper tone.

Turning around seeing his eyes
Before they pierce my skin
I love this man, to my demise,
For lusting is a sin.

He pressed his lips to mine
As I felt his warm embrace
I would give my life to have the time,
To know him in and out: sound, smell, sight, touch and taste.

I look up and see those eyes,
That drill into my soul
I am stuck like a star in the skies
Or lost like a wandering foal.

Those eyes held me steady
As a tear burns down my cheek,
For him I was not ready
For my heart to feel so weak.

He smiles at me and it blows the tear away
To my heart he holds the key
But in my heart is where he’ll stay

I hold his hand; he fades into the howling wind,
My spirits sinks into the sand the cold is on my skin.
I wake, and no longer linger in dreams
There’s no love path to take, for in sleep
Is only where love lies it seems.

I used to look to the skies
And think of when I was a glittering star,
How I felt when I looked into his eyes,
But now I only see them from shadows or afar.

I tried to forget, but it made me love him more
My broken heart would not let, this love turn into lore
I was insane; my mind was set to feast,
My mind could not control or tame my inner starving beast.
She craved love and care, what I myself could not give;
For all of me it was so unfair to let this poor beast live.
She paces in my mind for all eternity
She waits for me to find someone
Who will always love me.

We all have an inner beast.. longing for the wrong thing sometimes..This was a good work. It needs some work on spelling..and it changes gender..I don't understand that..is it me? ..???

This is so moving and yet so sad. I hope you feel better.
