Softly Midnight

Contributed by Steeleyes on Friday, 13th December 2002 @ 04:40:00 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

blizzard of stars
sweep slicing black
in magic splashes
rainbows & hurricanes
dreams beneath my mind
fiery dark eyes
wreathed spells of kohl
sparkling, arising
dancers of the gate
with fingers twirl
new fates on harps
and angels wings
touched by icey winds
in misty winter dales
where walls of snow
and forests
hang in silent air

Thank you Jessica... this came from walking one night far out in the Mugdock/Craigallion woods with thick snow all around in huge mounds on the walls and hanging thickly on the trees. The stars were sparkling everywhere and the wind swirled the falling snow in the icy cold air. You know that amazing feeling when you breathe icy cold air in deeply through your nose? Not when it just feels cold but when it creates an ecstasy? Maybe it was just me just that night, it was amazing, silver, ghostly, spiritual...

Yes, I know what you mean. I'm from Minnesota, and there it is usually pretty cold and snowy in the winters. I hate winter, but I have had moments like the one you just described to me:-)
