Inside Gloom

Everyday is egalitarian whether it be dark,
Frost bitten, shadowed spurious night
Or bright with trees reflecting like mirrors,
Never portraying anything of importance,
Only a barren landscape of ideals.
Unfold every finger in attempt to grasp more after every failure.
With a face that ages through the years,
Inside, withered like old railroad tracks hidden under a canopy of weeds.
They are forgotten…
I want to be contagious. Replace my heart with flesh.
Burn my anxiety so no trembling remains.
Inside, a paroxysm is brewing, yes all is relative
But outstretched arms are all too familiar.
There is no moratorium here so leave the lamentations.
Shrewdness is obscured by self-indulgence.
Words are in vain like a sword against a poltergeist.
