Some are new some are old
Some are worn
Some would never go near the stores
A fact so may times told
Shirts pants old novelties
Pictures of Saints of Jesus in the clouds
Sofas and chairs sagged worn
Dishes and cups made for tea
Help us help others slogans say
All sorts of varieties
Today I need a pair of shoes
looking around before entering the store
If high school mates saw me it would be all over
Not all live along Lake Huron
I hate this state of being underprivileged
We all have those who call you loose
Some don't respect others at all
everyone comes from where they may
Sixteen and working papers I set pins
Never saying Daddy I need
"Money doesn't grow on trees"
Inside the store I'm looking for shoes today
People greet Spanish Black and White
I see several pair It's cold today If it were not for the sun Respecting each others birth right
Tennies work boots with wrinkled toes
Oxfords loafers and shiny dress
If only I can find a pair
Looking looking I try on several
O'God please mine are so worn
Prayer answered I see my shoes
Shiny black and never walked on
How do I know I check the souls
Shoe tops unscratched and souls unmarked
I pray "Thank you Saint Jude"
Perfect they fit I'll look good monday morn
A dollar fifty is all they ask I give them two
Ouside I quickly discard my Red Shield bag
Never knowing who could see my site
Somehow I know these shoes belong to a dead man
Donated by his widow I'm sure
I pray for her and I pray for him
Thank you God and bless both their souls
In time my queeziness fades and I like my "New shoes"

Now, I really like this. You told an interesting story and filled it with colors and thoughts that kept me reading to the end.
