Writers block

Contributed by taurusgem1 on Friday, 18th February 2005 @ 02:55:54 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Rapping against the window
Blistering light blinding all
Who pass by; coat drenched
Dusted, in the corner I sit
Nervous tapping, taking its rhythm
From the mindless clock down the hall

Purging thoughts spill on to the paper
Discarded into the hollow tin can beside me
Faint ears carry on the sounds of life
Passing through, shoving the smell of
Warm biscuits into my head;
Empty gurgling stomach ache

Lifeless pen franticly
Scribbling the songs of this sorrow
Nondescript eventful days merging
Unto the pallet of my heart
Bleeding through

Seeing the visions unable to
Give meaning to the plays of yesterday
Light shifts and the day drops
Yellow glowing chandelier reflecting
The agony, so many unwritten truths
Falsely taking shape into this poem I write

I love this, and sympathize. It can be amazing though, what seems like a Death can give birth..sometimes in more ways than one.

I figure..as long as you're writing, whatever it may be, you're winning.

Very nice indeed. Not sure what else to say since it's only 5 minutes to 7 over here. My vocabulary goes straight down the tubes this early. Ask me in a couple hours. Hehehe.

Lots of love and peace be with you,

Chelsea

Alas, I'm right there with you. I, too, got to a place (as you apparently did) where the only option seemed to be to write of it. You --- did it much more eloquently than I did. I could barely even manage it.

Your conclusion really tugs at me. I had just been thinking along those lines --- worse even than not writing, is writing (*sigh*) what just doesn't seem/isn't real. Horrid, I know.

I liked this - a lot. You have done something here... I do hope you know that.

With understanding,
SNM
