Tonight I'll Fall Asleep With Your Shirt

Contributed by xbleedingheart on Thursday, 17th February 2005 @ 08:51:37 PM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

One glimpse at the mocking.
Staring and laughing.
Is hardly shocking.
When you smiled like that,
I knew it was the end.
The poetry would stop.
And we would just pretend,
That there never was prose.
In the golden days,
We even drew pictures,
Of little kids on fire,
Of grown men wraped in wire.
But down the road,
The tires schreeched.
And our lovley modes turned,
We found out there was so much more to be learned.
Tonight, for one last time,
I’ll fall asleep with you XL t shirt.
I’ll fall asleep tonight wanting nothing more.

I hate to confess this... but I expected so much less when I saw the title. This then, was a very pleasant surprise.

Very nicely done. And your closing line... geesh --- hits home.

Oh what we sacrafice for satisfaction and the contradiction that titles love. you captured my ineterest with your title, fresh, new and reeking of potential. interesting is what writing should be. words are lifeless when reiterated relentlessly. when love speaks pain and blindness it speaks true. your write was brilliant in it's originality.

~Can grace repay the debt, never. it is my refusal to accept you that bends me to the wounds i worship. the food oath, the empty stomach that will never be full, but forgiveness is the grace you beg for when you say "no, i promise i love you"~weepingprophet
