Soulless Passion
Freezing images of beauty
With burning eyes of passion
Gleaming in the endless sea
Of what will never be
There is a hole
Burned in his soul
His heart is pierced
With undrying tears
Of never being whole
But the cross still stands
Withered by time's sands
As it slowly rots away
With only memory left to stay
Because of bloody hands
Taking away what could be
And everything that should be

I'm not sure I understand this. I sure am trying though. It says so much, and I guess I could run with it so many directions, and that's what's confusing me.

I like how you kinda slip the christ allusion in here with the cross but not really coming out and saying it... I'm curious that is what you were writing about isn't it? Lovely, well done poem. Subtle but sends a very powerful and heart-warming message to the reader. Nice write! |

An intreging poem, short yet powerful. Could be a religious theme, but i'm not sure that is your focus. The last line sounds so final...
Fascinating poem, good job

Wonderful poem! The lone lines in between work really well. I really enjoyed reading this piece. |
