It's two o'clock in the morning, and I sit here all alone.
Crying over lost loved ones, and the way I did them wrong.
The mother I failed to visit, and the sister I left alone.
When both of them I needed, to fill my heart with the joy of home.
It's two o'clock in the morning, tears are rolling down my face.
My heart is sad and broken, as I sit in this lonely place.
I've lost the needle to my compass, my world is so hard to face.
I miss the sister that loved me, and my mother's warm embrace.
It's two o'clock in the morning, as I sit and write this poem.
The sadness that overwhelms me, is the worst I've ever known
My mother died at sixty eight, my sister at forty one.
I pray that they knew, how much I loved them,
With a love I wished, I had shown!
