The world has passed me by.
The night is a dry day
dying in the moonlight.
The rain is a last song
singing softer than forever.
I laugh my vomit my love
my independence.
I laugh my hands
my hands laugh fingers playing
across the keyboard.
In crowded rooms
on crowded sofas
I am alone
standing at the door.
The door is pouring rain
painting the fog with
its ashes and plain
white paint.
The door surrounds me
suffocates me
slips and falls
and captures me.
The door is my mountain
my crowning achievements
her beautiful breasts against
my chest my grievance
her pale dimensions
riding above
clawing at the windows.
The corner stirs
a spider spins her web
spins serenity
longevity
and pain.
The world continues
and I am still,
cradling her kisses
her ash and
plain black
mess of hair.
