What Will Become?

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

It seems like this world is nothing like it used to be
And all the things I thought I knew have been taken away from me
Maybe this is why everyone is changing right before my eyes
And maybe it has something to do with me and how I feel inside

So many questions as to what makes us who we are today
Not enough answers to show from a world full of anguish and pain
So many confessions that we all have hidden away
What will become of those that remain?

What ever happened to the place that we once called home
It's all about the quest for power and by taking control
All it does is leave you with an empty and vacuous soul
Sucking the life out of you, turning your heart to stone

It seems like everyone is moving forward in everyway
While I'm making two steps back, much to my dismay
Looking back on the past, I wish that I did things differently
As I wonder how long this will last, is there anything left in me?

So many questions as to what makes us who we are today
Not enough answers to show from a world full of anguish and pain
So many confessions that we all have hidden away
What will become of those that remain?

Walls are closing in on me and there is no escape
These feelings that I have of confusion and delusion, I wish I could erase
And the harder I try to fight against this frustration that I hold inside
The more I feel like I'm walking a dead end road down the path of time

It seems like everyone else are the ones who make sense
And I'm just the one who watches from the picket fence
If only we could find the courage and strength to unify
Maybe then we would understand what we signify

So many questions as to what makes us who we are today
Not enough answers to show from a world full of anguish and pain
So many confessions that we all have hidden away
What will become of those that remain?

In times of the present, we must never forget that there is always hope
There may be terrorism and wars, hate and greed, lies and deceit
But there is always one thing that we have against those who want us to choke
And that is the strength to carry on, we will never banish our beliefs
